Christmas anytime

December 25, 2008

I sometimes think we expect too much of Christmas Day. We try to crowd into it the long arrears of kindliness and humanity of the whole year. As for me, I like to take my Christmas a little at a time, all through the year.

And the incomparable Digital Cuttlefish has a Christmas poem for you.  Here’s a sample verse:

For love, and for giving, we say “tis the season”
For caring, for kindness, for sharing good cheer
But why limit ourselves? I mean, what is the reason?
Why can’t we be giving the rest of the year?…

Enjoy!  And a wonderful Christmas to you and your loved ones.

Jolly Squidmas!  And all of the other wonderful reasons to celebrate.  The kindness and caring part should be a year-long tradition, definitely.  And we should be given a few extra days off every year to celebrate all of the midwinter festivals, old and new.  ;-)
