It really is an excellent way to explain the reason why so many get involved in Open Source projects. I still have a hard time seeing how a majority of paid software will still be around in another 5-10 years. I can see people and businesses paying for support, and I can see big major apps like SAP possibly staying around, who’s going to keep paying $50 a year for the run-of-the-mill app that has a free Open Source counterpart.
