Easier to throw stuff out if I’ve gotten some little good, no matter how trivial, out of it

I am cleaning out the garage to get ready to make some home repairs.  Before I throw out this old oil pump, tell me…
Which way will the bottom gear have to turn, to move oil from the left chamber to the right chamber?  Clockwise?  Or counterclockwise?

  4. What, you haven’t heard of a guess before?

    I really made the guess by looking at the opening on the right side and seeing how it was slanted down. This made me think it was made that way so the teeth could more easily push the oil into that opening.
