Our constitution makes this a Christian Nation, part II
Hold on just a moment, says Barack…
Remember McCain blithering on about how the founding fathers made this a Christian nation? Here’s Obama on the same topic:
Hat Tip to Greg Laden.
What a contrast between Obama’s and McCain’s views on the role of religion in politics and policy making!! Where McCain caves in to the Christian right, Obama uses logic and reason to confront them with the truth. This guy has got cojones and my respect for him grows daily.

Posted by Cobalt on 06/11/08 at 01:45 AMTremendous! That’s my man. And I just noticed what I’ll take as a good omen. The word in your captcha box that I have to type in is ‘man’. Thanks…

Posted by webs05 on 06/11/08 at 08:23 AMThe problem, though, is that plualism is a harsh mistress. The caption is that he’s a secularist, but I would pin him more as a post-modern canidate. Yes, as a national leader you have to stretch the tent big, but incorporating pluralism into your core character and ideals ends up shallowing you out in the long run.
I guess my point is that he has to ride a slightly more grey line than he is currently. A good critique I heard this week is that Obama is failing to coalese around some core ideas and it could hurt him as the fall progreses.
But then again, he could just throw some makeup on like a trollip. lol. Or veto some beer, or cover a beach boys song.

As long as he doesn’t bowl.

Of course, the assault on reason and science will not leave office with George Bush, no matter who wins the election.
