...other than that, perfect conditions for a restful night. So this is an open thread. Anything you want to talk about, have at it. I’m going to the TED site and watch a Jonathan Haidt video on the differences of moral psychology between liberals and conservatives. With a view to understanding some of the mysteries of this election cycle.
Update: if you watched the video, what do you think strategically of “Change” as a campaign message? (Still an open thread, I’m just trying to get the ball rolling)

2. For me she’s a MINLF and nothing I’ve seen from her yet suggests she’d be worth so much as a long conversation. But I’d be fascinated to spend time with Biden; he’s a very interesting guy.
So, how about that President Palin?

We have had democratic Congress for almost two years and Bush rarely veto’s anything. Biden is part of the good old buy old guard with over 32 years in Congress and McCain isn’t any better. So why not just refuse to elect any incumbant, things can’t get much worse and besides we would get a who new group of liars, cheats and thieves.

Me too, but I’m most upset about the hyper-politicization of the justice department, their attempts at ideological purity where bureaucratic excellence is required (that whole Monica Goodwin thingie), and the secrecy and plain bad judgment of torturing and incarcerating or using the same methods our enemies use.
The corruption that we’re seeing with Bush is fairly well distributed with Democrats as well, although the anti-tax, anti-regulation religion fostered by the libertarian crazies has reached a nadir with this administration. Result: A few bad wars, income disparity of historic proportion, and a clear view that the country has become an oligarchy-plutocracy.
I would have thought that the clarity of stupidity of this administration would have taken decades to become evident, but the current crop of Republicans/Libertarians have been incredibly effective in showing us the results of such policies in near real-time. Yeay!!!
Go McCain-Palin!!!

All the deregulation came as a result of Republican-controlled Congress. Byron Dorgan, a member of the Senate Banking Committee, predicted this meltdown 9 years ago.
Biden is hardly someone you want to pick on, James.
