Wiretapping for fun and profit

I don’t know why this strikes me as funny

I never thought of it this way: FBI wiretaps cut for unpaid bills.  And how dumb do you have to be to embezzle from the FBI?

...and here’s a bonus-round question: why is it the people who make the loudest noises about freedom and how they hate government power, are the first to cave when the government says that if there’s any legal oversight of their illegal wiretaps, the terrorists win?

  2. Oooh, is it because they are scared, insecure in their own ignorance and the warm stupor of the tube, enabled by an education system that values promotion over challenge.  Afterall, no child likes to be challenged.

Well I’ve noticed that after some initial settling-out, most of the panicky pants-wetting has been done by Republicans.  “Ooh, we have to bomb this country, and that country, and this other country!  And tap all phones!  And torture people!  Lots of people!  And to hell with habeas corpus! And order another 157 gross of exclamation points!!!”

    Anyone who wants to try and think rationally about the most effective way to counter or even neutralize the threat, gets swiftboated.
