There’s “stupid” and then there’s “Facepalm stupid”

Go faster, it’s safer

The World Shipping Council has a novel argument for why speed limits actually increase the chances of a collision: you’re in the area longer.  Seriously.  Why, this could revolutionize traffic safety!

    Anyway, this must be the same logic as to why it is more fuel-efficient to speed - you get there quicker, so your engine can be turned off earlier!
