Go for a walk today

Another way to put it is; “Start moving under your own power day”

I always appreciate seeing people move under their own power, however they do it.  One student at the College Of Business even carries a skateboard around.  Wouldn’t it be fun to see corporate executives riding to work on skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles?  We have muscles, folks; let’s use ‘em!

  1. Man it would be great to see more people get off their butts. What I would really like to see as well are cities that give a damn about people who walk to work, ride a bike, skateboard, etc. Rather than three lane roads it would be great to see one of those lanes turned into a lane for those moving under their own power.

There are plenty of roads in our town that could support a bike lane and still keep the same number of lanes.

The question isn’t only, “When are people going to get up and move?” But also, “When are people going to start voting for city officials that not only care about the environment, but want to change the way things are done?”

  2. One of the reasons I started my “South Wedge Morning” photo project was to make sure I was moving on weekend mornings.  Little by little it helps. Me ... and our mother.

  3. that comic is brilliant.  And skateboards are great.  It’s pretty hard work and it requires a particularly good sense of balance… same with rollerblades, to a lesser extent.

Bikes are really the most practical way to get around under one’s own power.  Bike thieves contribute to global warming.
