I give the waitress who brings my breakfast a twenty percent tip

Homeless Charles Moore of Detroit was digging through a dumpster to find recyclable bottles.  He found $21,000 in US Savings Bonds.  He took them to an all-night shelter where a staffer tracked down the owners, who showed their gratitude with a $100 reward.

Here you go, Mr. Homeless man.  Thanks SO much for bringing these by.  Here’s a nice crisp $100 bill.

    Yeah, I generally tip a dollar for a buch and a half cup of coffee..but then the waitress has big hooters.

    Maybe the bond owner was pretty tight, but apparently other people were more thoughtful.

    Turns out the guy was employed and got laid off, and was not a long-time homeless guy.  He was searching for returnable bottles to cash them in.

    The bottom line: we are all just one major bad event from being in the same boat.  How we take care of people who are shoved out in the street by circumstance reflects on our true character.
