Ahh, the lovely sounds of fine photography…

December 17, 2005

OK, I know that Ansel Adams, in addition to being one of the greatest photographers who ever lived, was also an accomplished pianist whose understanding of the musical scale inspired his Zone System of photographic exposure control.  But this seems a little exploitive.  The 2-CD set is not recordings of Adams’ playing, or even his personal favorites recorded – just melodies someone decided to collect and slap his name on for marketing purposes.

    True, so very true….
So that’s why you pulled out your little camera at WALMART?

It seems like the marketers know only certain songs.  Almost all the cds have the same tunes, just different instruments and a mix of people doing the lyrics.
If I hear Josh Groban and O HOLY NIGHT one more time on the “radio’s Christmas music station”, I’m gonna go ballistic!  And you know Josh Groban is one of my favorite tunesters.
But please, a bit of variety! and leave out opportunities to exploit the deceased….

AA’s estate should sue.  That’s disgusting.

Brace yourself – this is the second 2CD set.  And I think they are authorized by his estate.  That doesn’t make it any less ridiculous.
