In case they’re wondering why we don’t watch TV news anymore…

A similar take could be done on the “uninformed talking heads blowhard show”. Which, by the way, does not include Rachel Maddow, the Oxford-educated commentator who actually goes to the trouble to find out stuff from actual authorities in the issue at hand, instead of bringing on ignorant twits who have memorized five slogans.

That was just great! What is so damn funny about is that is exactly every news story on TV I have ever seen in my life.
Maddow is the best I’ve seen in a while. Of course, she lets you know what her opinion is, but it seems she doesn’t allow her opinion to wreak havoc with her presentation of the facts.
I catch Brooker when I can- his ‘Screenwipe’ review show of TV is full of swearing at how stupid everything is.
Do you get this sort of invective in the US?
In everyday conversation, yes. But not on broadcast television.
Perhaps this is a bit askew of your point, but did you ever notice when watching news shows (or listening to them) how often the featured interviewee is . . . another “journalist?” I really don’t get that.
