Thought I made a clean getaway

June 1, 2009

Back in hospital with peritonitis.  Was admitted last night. Not known if further surgery will be required but to say the very least, my fingers are crossed.

Bummer, our thoughts are with you. My bad, I told Momma, SEB, Mrs SEB at dinner yesterday that you had topped yourself in blog writing about your recent foray into the health care. But I didn’t tell you. Now you’re pushing it. Capcha=years. Prophetic?

Heard through the rumor grapevine that here at the COB that you are back in that place.  Not good at all.  But the best place to be if you are still needing care.

Was so looking forward to a visit from you maybe today. Please take care.

I’m sending you healthy thoughts, fueled by “Layer Cake” primitivo red wine (aka zinfandel). Lots of good health in red wine.

Very sorry to hear it. May this stay be shorter and less involved than the last. Get well soon.

Very glad you’re on the mend.

Nice they’d ask who you are.  Once I was being rolled into surgery at George Washington U.  I asked the gurney operator to make sure my chart was okay.  She laughed.  “That’s a minor thing, and we don’t goof it up often.”  But I saw the clips from HHS every day, and I knew there’d been a case in Pennsylvania the week before—took off two wrong legs when the patients got mixed up.  I told her the story and asked her to check again.

“Okay, just for you sir; is your name Sus . . . I’ll be right back.”

She came back with the right charts and no smile.  I think she blamed me for the mix up.

Nice they didn’t mix you up.
