Something I noticed while cleaning up my workbench, and snapped a picture:
Dunno exactly, though I suspect it has something to do with LEDs. And it reminded me to tell you …
Last week I snagged a Zuiko 50/3.5 for a killer price. The OM-1MD body it was attached to is near perfect, though I will be selling it and have the Zuiko free or nearly so.
I’m guessing you used some kind of mirror for the effect and it looks like LEDs.
I’m certainly stumped here. Were you abducted over the weekend? :gulp:
Somehow a plastic (?) lens or upside-down cup is producing multiple images of your fancy-schmancy led ring-light you use for macro photography.
Being abducted by aliens would explain a lot, wouldn’t it Webs?
Actually EdK nailed it. The multi-coated concave lens element is from an old zoom lens that I dismantled back in my camera repair days. It was lying on a piece of curved, shiny black plastic, and I happened to notice that it reflected the overhead lamp in a nifty way. It gave a strange illusion of depth. So I popped the ringlight on my camera and snapped this shot.
Daamn, George – you really can make anything art! That’s delightful.
