Heroic stupidity

January 2, 2008

Back in November I thought this guy would serve as my image of ultimate stupidity: “Wash. state man uses shotgun to loosen lug nut; effort does not go well”.

Apparently the phrase “angle of incidence equals angle of reflection” had not entered his lexicon.  Along with a great many other things.  It reminded me of that line from the movie, Nobody’s Fool; “You know how I feel about arming morons!”

But this morning I heard about these two guys: “Men Shoot Themselves In Tattoo Attempt

OK, I’m not exactly an expert on guns, but a .357 magnum is a revolver, isn’t it?  So the hammer has to be pulled back for the trigger to be all that sensitive.  I guess they wanted the tattoo to depict the pistol with its hammer pulled back, ready to fire.  I bet it happened while they were tracing the trigger…

How do emergency room personnel keep a straight face?  How do cops?

This is just great! If they don’t already have it I think Darwin Awards needs a close call section…

It just really strikes me how they never thought to take the bullets out first, or at least check.

a .357 could be in a pistol as well as a revolver I reckon..and there is a difference..
