    It seems cyclical to me. We started out in computing with dumb terminals connected to mainframes. Over literally decades, more powerful, personal computers (desktops, workstations, laptops, and mobile devices) were developed with decentralized storage and CPUs. While the computers are unarguably better than the dumb terminals were, it feels like we’re just moving back to centralized computing, with cloud storage and CPUs.

    There are similarities to the past, but it isn’t a cycle exactly. The new systems take much more account of the human user.
