Yep!  You nailed it.  Since it’s been a very warm fall, the leaves are just starting to turn now.

Ted: “From a cultural perspective, how different is it to go on vacation somewhere that’s not too different from home? I see English signage and American style cars and architecture.”

It’s more of a trip through time than across cultures.  Hannibal is the boyhood home of Samuel Clemens, so there’s plenty for a couple history nerds to enjoy.  We’ve been having a wonderful time, and this trip will probably spawn a number of sentimental posts of embellished factuality.
