At bedtime, I usually fall asleep in just a few minutes. But somewhere between 2:30 and 3:30, I get uncomfortable enough from not moving around that I find myself in the kitchen, leaning against the counter balancing my options while drinking a glass of water. We’re not talking mortal agony here, though it has been worse in the past; usually it’s just enough to keep me awake. Odds are, I’ll get back to sleep around 5:00 – and then tend to oversleep. Sometimes, allergies join the insomniac conspiracy. It’s very annoying.
The ideal would be if I could just sleep 4 hours at night, then again in the afternoon. Hardly practical unless I were Thomas Edison, who never slept more than 4 hours in his adult life.
Looks like we’re often enough in the same boat, DOF! For some reason, I wake up around the same time in the early morning and don’t get back to sleep for a while. Maybe we should form a club!
