Axe: useful for removing the heads of monarchs, their wives (cheaper than a lawyer) and cousins. I have never done that, but have beheaded a pigeon which my cat had had mangled. Demolished a shed with one, but mostly used it to split logs with which we heated the house for many years.

Amusing. But you have had annoying conversations with police before, so you understand why I would be reluctant to inspire people to start dialing the local constabulary.

People look at you funny when you’re riding a bicycle down the street, carrying an axe.

I can only imagine. You know DOF you could have had a lot of fun with that. You should have put a crazed looked on your face, and rode the bike slowly and methodically. :coolgrin:

I used one about 10 years ago. I saw my Dad had one when I was trying to find something to use to cut some branches off my parents bushes. I know what your thinking but they told me to do it. :cheese:

It worked good till my brother found the thing with the handles that are pretty long, so it opens up wide and has a really sharp blade. But the axe was pretty cool.

I used one last week for two hours until I got a neighbor’s chain saw.

I fought the stump, and the stump almost won.

Taking a bow saw camping, especially when backpacking or hiking, is not nearly as convenient as an axe. It doubles for splitting wood (carryng a maul and large axe doesn’t appeal to most hikers), etc., but is mainly just plain cooler than a bow saw.

Nice job, I need a bench grinder, I think.
