Serious Comedy

“Everything is changing. People are taking their comedians seriously and the politicians as a joke.”
- Will Rogers

True, but why?  A commenter on Pharyngula explains why:

“Because comedians are willing to offend; politicians, never.”

The post leads to a dinner address given by Al Franken during his evening with Ann Coulter at the University Of Judaism.  It’s a good read, an antidote to the poisonous rhetoric for which Coulter is famous, and what the heck – I’m adding Al’s blog, “Midwest Values PAC” to my list.

  1. Al Franken and Ann Coulter are both lying, back stabbing, money grubbing, publish anything that will sell pieces of shit. Of course that is just my opnion by just doing any kind of mild investigation of anything either one of those idiots wants to publish. I find Al Franken paticularly offensive and would not have a problem of running over him with my truck if the stupid bastard ever jay walks in front of me.
