Cleaning out a little more in the basement, and I came across this picture of the Washington, D.C. Metro train. I don’t remember when I took it but it could have been some time in the late ‘80’s when I was visiting my sister there.

Taken with an Olympus XA, probably on Tri-X with about 1/4 second exposure. On such occasions I press my body and the back of my hand up against a post or pole and slowly exhale. When my lungs are empty, I slowly squeeze the shutter. Using this technique I’ve taken sharp pictures without a tripod up to 1 second in length.
What are you talking about? The train’s all blurry. Sharp picture indeed.
