I’m slowly picking my way through The CSS Anthology by Rachel Andrew, where I’m learning how web page formatting is done in the way-cool near-future.
You can see little changes, like my misty-blue links that light up when you hover over them with the mouse. (Hopefully they’re readily identifiable as links, while not as clunky as the old “blue-underline” standard.) But major DOF site design changes with a graphically distinct look are just getting started.
CSS is fun! It makes so much more sense than the old raw-HTML formatting way.

One of these days I guess I’ll get around to spiffing up my own blog…
Lately, though, it’s been all I can do to work up a posting or two. I guess I’m just waiting for the deep winter days…
Cajun, I think that “multiple style-sheets” trick you do on your blog is pretty cool. I use the “Blue” one when I visit.
It’s a lot of fun fiddling around with formatting, but I’m pretty sure people visit our blogs for the content, not our spiffy presentation. At least, I hope so!
CSS is your friend.
I just switched over to EE and am playing around with Les’ Kubrick theme port, but soon will start rolling my own theme and CSS will be a huge part of it, stripping all presentation out (ok, as much as possible.)
How is the CSS Anthology? Before I plunk down my cash I would like to see how others think of it
So far I like CSS Anthology but I’m just getting started. In particular I want to learn about page layout with CSS and that’s where the book will turn out to be good or average (I already know it isn’t a bad book.)

I have a couple that I have found usefull, but this one appears to be well done, just wanted a 2nd opinion from someone who has it
Now that I have switched to EE I want to do some really clean designs. MT was nice but templating was a <acronym title=“pain in the ass”>PITA</acronym> sometimes, EE seems much cleaner – could just be I am more used to PHP than Perl though
